Judge Clifford R. Anderson, III

Born: Pasadena, California on March 19, 1952.

Education: Graduated from La Salle High School in Pasadena. Judge Anderson attended the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indana and received a BA degree in English. Judge Clifford Anderson then attended University of California, Hastings College of the Law and received a JD in 1978.

Employment prior to the bench: Worked at Hillsinger and Castanzo in Orange County in the areas of insurance defense and litigation, concentrating in the area of product liability and malpractice defense. In 1987, he moved to their Santa Barbara office. In 1995 Judge Clifford Anderson opened his own law practice.

On the Bench: In September of 1997, Governor Pete Wilson appointed Judge Anderson to the Municipal Court bench. Judge Anderson became a Superior Court Judge in August of 1998 when the courts unified. Currently Judge Clifford Anderson presides over the Drug Court, Mental Health Court, Clean & Sober Calendar and Domestic Violence Review Court, as well as acting as a back up judge for the Criminal Departments. Judge Anderson is the Presiding Judge of the Santa Barbara Superior Court.
